Dear Dad,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to update you on Mom’s illness. Things have been difficult lately, as Mom was recently diagnosed with a serious medical condition. We’re still trying to get to the bottom of what’s going on and the doctors are running tests to figure out the best course of treatment.
In the meantime, Mom’s been feeling weak and has been struggling to do normal activities. I wanted to let you know what was going on so that you could be informed. I know that you and Mom are very close and I’m sure she would appreciate your support during this time. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
